Connect a Custom X (Twitter) App

Connect a Custom X (Twitter) App

Following API changes at X (Twitter), Re:amaze no longer supports the native Twitter channel integration. Re:amaze now supports connecting your own custom X application to pull in posts and Direct Message interactions. Your X application must be on at least the Basic App tier and registered as an X Project within the X Developer Platform.

Note: Twitter rebranded to X in July 2023. Their API access was removed on August 24, 2023. Existing native connections to Re:amaze are no longer supported and cannot be restored.

Create an app and locate your API keys

  1. Create an X Developer account.
  2. Create or register an X Project within the X Developer Platform.
  3. Create an app within your X Project.

Before continuing, make sure you have provided a callback URI. Navigate to Projects and Apps > Your Project > Apps > App Settings > User Authentication Settings. In the Callback URI/Redirect URL field, enter the following URI exactly:

Once your callback URI is configured, complete the following steps to finish setting up your app:

  1. Subscribe to at least the X Basic App tier. The Free App tier will not work.
  2. Navigate to the developer portal and expand the Projects and Apps dropdown in the side navigation.
  3. Open the app you want the API keys for and select the Keys and Tokens tab.
  4. Obtain your Consumer API Key and Key Secret from the Consumer Keys section.
