What are Customer Events?
Customer Events show you your customer's real-time activity on your website. While you chat with a customer, the Recent Activity section in the right rail displays their Customer Events. You can see where they are on your site, such as viewing products, reading your return policy, or on the checkout page.
- Shoutbox / Chatbox
- Lightbox
- Embedded FAQ
- Embedded Contact Form
- Embedded Conversation History
Enabling any one of these embeddables requires you to install the Re:amaze.js Embed, which makes it possible to track website visitors. For installation details, see the developer documentation. You can also use the Embeddable builder in the Settings menu of your Re:amaze account.
Realtime Customer Events for Shopify Users
If you use Shopify, Customer Events provide visibility similar to the Live Dashboard. When customers are active in your store and have items in their cart, that activity appears in their Customer Events in real time.
Customer Events display activity from customers who visit your website, store, or app. This includes guest users and authenticated users (customers who provide their name and email). Re:amaze keeps event histories for different lengths of time depending on the customer type:
- Guest users: Up to 7 days
- Authenticated users: Up to 14 days
